The sticky sheet must be changed when the number of insects has reached a level where:

The attractiveness associated to the color has dropped

The high number of insects has made the individual identification more difficult and lowered the counting accuracy.

Therefore, an alarm is sent to the operator when the saturation (number of pixels from insectes vs total pixel of the examination area) exceeds a limit of about 10%. This level can be adapted to various situation.
